Odette Brown conceals a life-threatening illness, as she utilises all of her cunning nous and courage to save her 13-year-old granddaughter, Sissy, from being taken by the ‘welfare’ authorities. While searching for her missing daughter Lila, Odette is forced to play a dangerous cat and mouse game with the ruthless Sergeant Lowe, who is determined to have Sissy removed from her care. Odette must make an impossible choice to protect her family at all costs.
